Out of curiosity do you think Suren went waaay too far with the bridle and her actions towards Oak until chapter 16 was plain abusive?

Sighs for a thousand years. TPT my beloathed. First off, let's make it clear everyone in these books is kinda abusive towards each other in some way and the journey is all about how they solved their issues and decided to fix themselves, and Wren is no different.

So did Wren go too far. As it stands, her and Oak's relationship in TPT sucks. It is unhealthy and they learn nothing about fixing it except "don't enslave your partner", which is a really no-brainer lession, and yet the book pretends like they are riding off into the sunset for their happily ever after. But I don't think the issue lies with what Wren does in that first half of the book, but the fact that it never goes anywhere.

I am not angered by Wren's bad treatment of Oak because TSH made it very clear that is not who she is. We were in her head, and we know she is experiencing a mental breakdown, causing her to act in ways she otherwise wouldn't. Naturally, that is no excuse and it doesn't mean he has to forgive her, but since TFOTA is all about forgiving people who do not really deserve forgiveness, it is on brand with the rest of the story. And to me her actions never cross the line that would make them truly unforgivable. Like, I personally wouldn't forgive them, but I can see why Oak would. The things she does to him are mean, but can be contextualized with a proper character arc. Sadly, since HB never commits to seeing her villain era through, she rectroactively makes Wren and Oak much worse. Obviously Wren is acting out as a culmination of all the horrible things she'd experienced, but we have no character arc that takes her from "paranoid mess lashing out at everything and everyone around her" to "chill girl who can be trusted with a kingdom and relationships with other people". I think she didn't go far enough as a villain and the reveal that she was being forced into doing bad things by Bogdana instead of her own motivations was a horrible stupid copout. I would have NO issue with a story about Wren temporarily slipping into darkness and Oak and Bex fishing her out of it, but instead I got a nonsensical story where she does some mean things to him personally in the beginning of the book, changes her mind, and spends the rest of the story trying to warn him she is gonna be forced to kill his family while he is too lovestruck to notice and assumes it is all about their romance instead. Readers can forgive a lot if the story presented to them is good, but what we got simply isn't it.

Long story short. In theory I wouldn't have an issue with Wren's actions if the story was self aware enough to make a proper arc out of them. As it stands, she and Oak have a bad relationship, but it isn't because she is too mean, it is because that meanness means nothing.

Are Sun's stupid? or are they stooped from learing?(EaPs)

ok I had this ramble inside my head after seeying the last EaPs episode with Sun kidnaping Captinal Foxy..be warned, is a mess is Sun really.. dumb? or is that maybe .. just maybe.. he doesnt retain Information as long as the rest? I'll make this into two points so this ramble has some order.. How do they learn? sharing a mind does come with issues? now, we know this universe is way different from the one we know, not only both DCA stared up aware of themselves, But they also seem to be coded way different.. I know most things said in old videos dont always stay canon due to the VAs forgetting it, but I know theres key details they try to keep relevant.. and I feel THIS video comes to play a major role on learning how similar both DCA's duo are.. How do they learn?

Both Moon's seem to learn by watching and Copying, Moon said that himself (along side the knowladhe extractor, but thats cheating) while Moonpea ha been showed to us this. He had grew smarter as both Eclipse and Monty helped him on his game and overall tech issues.. one by speaking outloud and the other by direct touch, Moonpea inteligence comes from the literally two people that often times come to tutor him.. (and dare I say.. Eclipse plays a way major role in teaching as he is the one closer and one Moon trust the most with his KC) And Sunpea? thats the issue here.. unlike Moon, he recives less attention and less teaching's from Eclipse, is mostly Ballora that had mention to try and helped him out but we havent see that yet.. Sun from SaMs had been seen to learn by steps guides and repetition, mostly from his Spell lessions but we can assume he had learned to mature by having to teach Lunar how to behave, then NewMoon and now Dazzle , aside from having to learn all Universe stuffs by being told too many times.. (plus driving, is mostly by repetiton too, at least is here) Sunpea in the other hand seems to spend his time alone, unless Pups or Ballora visit him, he doesnt seem to gain much exposure or outside knowladge besides how to type and open apps.. he's has knowladge tho, but that seems to only come out when is needed ,and that is basic human/child care.. aside from that, he's mentioned to not care about tech talk, so most times he space out while Moon does his nerdy talk.. we Know Moon had tried to teach him, keep him company and be there for him, but Moon himself is young too, and Im sure he doenst get the energy to bring Sun back from LuLu Land every day.. sharing a mind does come with issues? one issue adressed is the lack of teachers for Sunpea,,but say he does get it.. would it stay? we werent told exactly how the memories and space bewtween both AIs work, we knew SaMs had separated memories therefore if one learned something the other didnt ..this made even more clean after separation but the peas? does Moon developing faster has a side effect on Suns maturity? is maybe one taking more space than the other? is maybe the lack of troubles and not fighting a major point? we dont know.. and I feel like maybe this is the reason why Sun seems to stay more childish than Moon..

is because none of them have any need to mature fast, theres no danger to their lives YET, there's no fight for control ,meaning to pushing each other down..and no need to actually change.. Sunpea is happy on his little bubble, he seems to not have any indications or motives to develop,yet we know Moon's trying his best I just think Sunpea just need a space and reason to develop more,, and with the addition to Capitan Foxy and his increase on Obssesion.. I think we may finally see more of Him!

I recently re-read Riddler: One Bad Day and it's actually a masterpiece!

There's something truly fantastical about how Riddler's intelect is portrayed almost as a mystical power! The scene where Edward mind tricks all the cops into killing each other by laying on the floor and laughing like a maniac is pure art and I'm truly sorry for previously calling it "stupidly edgy", "the moment the comic lost all chance of salvation", "the final proof male power fantasies are a diservice to the entertaiment industry" and "soo dark is actually hilarious".

I also need to compliment the ambiguousness of if Riddler became who he is because of the abuse he endure or if his dad was abusive BECAUSE Edward was always bad is fantastically creepy and necessary. If your narrative does not have victim blaming as one of the possibilities in your moral debate about the inexistence of redemption and the need for violent cops ... I mean heros who kill the villains because evil will never stop nor change what's even the point?

I'm also sorry for my mean coments over Riddler reveling that he was part of Joker's attack against Barbara Gordon. It is actually a really nice nod to the original, specially in the way it reinforces Barbara's place as an useless plot point without agency that only serves to motivate her father. After all why would anyone ever want Babs to actually matter in an event that changed her life forever? Gordon is pissed. That's what matters.

The RIDDLER hating RIDDLES and using them to protect the world from himself by constantly re-living his trauma because actually the trauma was what stopped him from murdering for a long time and does that mean the story is retconing itself to show he was born evil? Is the BEST plot twist. If all future versions of Edward don't hate his gimmick and his own identity and think dorky people who tell riddles are actually stupid and puzzles are dumb than the comic industry will have to live in shame.

Back to talking about the portral of woman! I'm soo happy that the comic took away the voice from Edward's mother presenting her only by what her job as a sex worker represented to the people around her! Such a feminist take! And the snapy Riddler was justified in being mad that his henchmen sleept with his mother because being a sex worker is dirty actually. Gorgeus.

This comic also has the best teacher characther ever. He is so real for ignoring a kid's cry for help, considering their neurodivergent coded anxiety and dificulties are a case of needing to chill and seing all the most obvious sings of abuse ever as "very unchill kid behavior". And the comic is soo right for portraying this man as sympathetic and good and how if Eddie had stoped being a neurodivergent abused kid for a second and just chilled he would have been fine and never became a muderer. It's a life lession. Abused kids should just stop being anxious over the very real possibility of more abuse and neurodivergent people should just chill and everything will be fine. Doing nothing except blaming the crying desperated child for asking help is the right move!

Also Batman should kill. That's just a fact. Jason Tood has been saying it for years now and he is right. All heros should kill actually. Every comic should be exactaly like a Punisher run writen by an alt-right. Yes even the non-superhero ones. Yes even the manga. Yes even Donald Duck ones.

I could write pages and pages about how this is the perfect comic - bar the art style - but I think this is already a suficient apology for my previous misleading critics.

the continuation and development of recurring themes in the latter half of the witcher saga is [chef’s kiss]

i appreciate how the writing of geralt’s company remains consistent with its themes, motifs, messages in tower of the swallow, despite being shifted from the main plot to the side plot (in order to give way for ciri’s development as a main character). even though they’re not the main focus of the book now, they continue to develop and change, all in accordance and addition to what occured in baptism of fire. instead of treating it like a separate story, it’s a continuation — like the current lessions build upon the previous ones.

so here are some of the main continued themes that i cannot stop thinking about !!

guilt, atonement, debts — in baptism of fire, the company initially forms out of seeking penance for their individual guilt, they “[pay] off debts by running up debts with others.” the whole company feels guilt — geralt for his abandonment of ciri, dandelion for his inability to help geralt, milva for her unborn child, regis for his terrorizing of humanity, cahir for his kidnapping of ciri. in order to absolve themselves of their past, they join together to do good in the present. the company has already formed — but then, in the tower of the swallow, angoulême joins, and the reason we are given is that she feels “indebted” to geralt for saving her from a graphically violent execution. and she herself has a background of violence and crime to absolve herself from, a perfect addition to the company, the completion of a hansa…

order and chaos bear the same monsters — the brutality of nilfgaardian forces, time and time again, whether it is the terrorizing invasion of brugge and angren and battle of the bridge on the yaruga or the iron grasp of slavery in riedbrune under prefect fulko artevelde, is witnessed by the company. many parallels are made between antagonists of ‘order’ and antagonists of ‘chaos’, that is, soldiers and bandits — they’re often equated in their motivations and results. in baptism of fire, we see nilfgaardians (bringing alleged “order”) and bandits exact the same kind of horrific violence, pillaging and raping, upon settlements and refugees... (of course, dandelion’s famous “brothel on fire” passage comes to mind.) but then to further the equivalency, in tower of the swallow we see fulko artevelde and ‘the bear’, two regional nilfgaardian leaders, actually strike an alliance with nightingale and his team of bandits, as well as the sadistic schirrú. they’re not just similar, they are one and the same! and these three forces are directly paired off with the detachment from the company, our protagonists — the nilfgaardians want cahir, the bandits want angoulême, schirrú wants the witcher…

judgement, punishment, pain, fire — the horseshoe episode in which the girl is judged by whether or not the horseshoe can be pulled from the fire. regis’ drunken death by decapitation, but return to the living and integration into human life. cahir’s stay in the imperial prison for treachery and failure to kidnap ciri, and the brutal scar on his hand where ciri slashed him with her sword, so gruesome some of the fingers still could not move. the battle of the bridge, where the baptism of fire singes geralt’s hair and face, but afterwards, he is knighted and given a chance to begin anew, which he discards to continue suffering in order to find ciri and atone for her loss and abandonment… fulko artevelde’s sadistic authoritarian monologue about deterring crime with violent punishment. angoulême bizarrely fighting for her want to be hanged on the scaffold — we learn it’s because she doesn’t want to have her breasts torn with red-hot iron pincers and to be speared through on a wooden stake. nightingale and schirrú being brutally set on fire in the druids’ wicker cage — geralt’s understanding then that “not all death is the same.”

humility, humiliation, identity — a tower of the swallow special: geralt’s painful and brutal treatment underneath mount gorgon and loss / rejection of his identity as a witcher among the druids relates to ciri’s brutal treatment by bonhart which led her to revealing her true identity, as well as yennefer’s communion with freyja which involved enduring extreme psychological and physical pain, as well as admitting a spiritual force was more powerful than her

SLIME IS TRANSLUCENT BUT IS IT REFLECTIVE?

A c!Quackity and c!Slimecicle analysis. Assume all names have c! in front of it. I am talking about the characters exclusively here. Also spoilers to the latest lore stream of 11/27

Apart from the obvious inhumanness, the character of Slime has been left a relatively blank slate. However after the most recent lore, this was most likely intentional. Slime's blankness is a characterization in it of itself, and he has unwittingly become a mirror for Quackity.

From the very start, Quackity has chosen to mold Slime into his protégé. It is pretty obvious that this is his plan, so much so that Slime even asks him: "so you want me to be you?". This is the first instance of Slime being used as mirror. Quackity is projecting his traits onto Slime and trying to train Slime to reflect them back. Slime acts like a rubber duck (ha, ironic) for Quackity, a place where he can articulate his thoughts and ideals. In turn, the viewers are being shown what Quackity's true motivations are through Slime. This is not the only thing however.

Slime also acts as a place for Quackity to show his true wants. Quackity's original intention with Slime was to turn him into a proxy no doubt, but throughout their "training montage" he has become affectionate towards him. Quackity treats him like a son, and mourns his first death. Quackity throughout it all, Quackity was showing Slime the care and attention that he himself wished he had. Quackity thinks that he has been treated like garbage, and has made sure that Slime will not be while under him.

Slime has also became a person who Quackity confides in, even if he does not know it. When Slime asks Quackity to show him an example of a "bad authority", Quackity starts to go into an imitation of Dream, ending with him-as-Dream yelling about how he "gets what he fucking deserves". This instance can also overlap with the point in the previous paragraph. But even in general, just the nature of Quackity's lessions show this. The viewer can really hear the frustration in Quackity's voice as he tells Slime those lessons. Yes, they are a teaching device, but also a way for Quackity to vent about what has happened to him to Slime.

Lastely, Slime acts as a reflection of Quackity's doubts. When Quackity goes on his rant about getting revenge, Slime cuts through all that and asks him "is it worth it", forcing Quackity to admit that it may not be. Slime is able to present Quackity with questions that Quackity himself is afraid to confront. Every time Slime acts, he is like a road block, temporarily stopping Quackity's momentum and in turn, making him reflect. Even Slime's comedic moments in the "training montage" do this.

Protégé, therapist, or the one void who stares back, Slime takes on many roles while being a mirror for Quackity. However, one knows that being that "therapist friend" and allowing people to project is not the healthiest for someone to be. I wonder how all this projection will effect Slime in the future, since right now he is already showing signs in internalizing some of Quackity's lessons.
